Emma Dotti

Artist in residence
July 14 – August 1, 2026

Emma Dotti (Parma, 2000), visual artist based in Milan. She graduated with special honours from the MA in Sculpture at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 2026 and spent one year abroad in the State Akademie of Fine Arts Karlsruhe, Germany. One of her pindaric flights took her all the way to Intorsura Buzulaui, Romania.

Her research explores the intersections, stumbles, and cracks between communities, spaces, and beings through a feminist lens. She’s particularly interested in how these topics intersect and influence each other. In how art, embracing different topics, histories and eras, takes on the fundamental role of an a-temporal interstice. It opens breaches and raises questions, bringing into dialogue the inside and the outside in sculptural operations that always imply a shift and consequently a change, even minimal, in perspective. The artistic process is an experiential becoming that interrogates the relationship between the individual body and the social body, the physical and imaginary spaces. The spark from which her works come to life is always a minimal detail, a margin, which, if looked closely can turn into a space of possibility, capable of offering a radical perspective from which to look, create and imagine alternatives.

She is an active member of the editorial collective of Fuoriregistro, a magazine dedicated to contemporary art, feminist studies, and pedagogical theory. She is also co-founder of Paltacréa APS, a cultural association that hosts and curates multidisciplinary artist residencies in Italy’s inland and rural areas, developing an eye in community based practices and field-research based processes.
