Ionela-Andreea Ghețe is a researcher, curator, cultural manager, and independent art critic, based in Brașov, Romania. Since 2021 she is collaborating with diverse national and international cultural institutions and organizations, for which she creates, manages, mediates and promotes projects and events in the fields of visual arts, music, film, theater, and literature. She writes art criticism, book reviews, and theoretical studies, and engages with contemporary dance and other performing arts. As a curator, she received the 2018 Exhibition of the Year award in Brașov.
Since her undergraduate studies in moral and political philosophy, she is interested in a range of themes at the intersection of arts, history, and political thinking. She develops multidisciplinary practices and projects with an emphasis on empathy and dialogue between contexts, cultures and generations.
If she had a superpower, she would have wanted to be able to read people’s thoughts, until she realized that she finds the relevant ones in books. At Intersecția she is developing a meta-research around rural (art) practices and ecosystems.
